Aidan & Santa

Here they are today...

And one year ago!

I can't believe how much he has grown up. (By he, I mean Aidan. Santa looks pretty much the same)

18 months, going on 18

Here is Aidan with his new video iPod. It is not really Aidan's but since it is loaded with the Backyardigans shows, Veggie Tales movies and Sesame Street songs it might as well be. Hopefully it will keep him entertained during our holiday travels.

Winter Hayride

Last Sunday was the neighborhood hayride to judge the Christmas decorations. We didn't win but Aidan enjoyed the donut holes.

Another Game, Another Puck

We went to the Stars game last Friday night and Aidan got another puck tossed over the glass to him. We also got to check out the zamboni parked outside.

Dinner in Bethlehem

Our church had a special for dinner for younger children to celebrate Christmas. There was a live Nativity, dinner, and a program about the birth of Jesus. I think Aidan's favorite part was the cookies for dessert.

Happy, Happy...

Aidan's new favorite thing are candles with a fake flame. He carries them around and sings "Happy, happy, happy". He wants us to sing Happy Birthday and then he pretends to blow it out.

Carrollton Christmas

On Saturday, Carrollton had a little Christmas Festival in the old downtown.
Here is Aidan wearing his Lowe's apron. Needless to say Daddy had to complete the wood-working project.
Aidan also checked out the fire truck.

And ate his first candy cane (rather neatly I must say).

Mavs Fan

Aidan went to his first Mavericks game last night. It took us the first 3 quarters to convince him that it was basketball not hockey. Then he got into it. He liked to wave his arms when the other team was shooting foul shots like the people sitting behind the basket. Too bad we were sitting at center court. He does look cute in his jersey though.

Rabby

This is Rabby (at least that is what Aidan calls him, I think it is part rabbit and part bunny). He is Aidan's new 'pet' that has moved into our backyard. We leave carrots out for him to eat and he hops over near the deck at least once every day. Aidan stands at the back door and yells at him to 'hop, hop, hop'.

Christmas

Since the whole Abrams family was together, we had our 'Christmas' and exchanged gifts. Aidan was much more involved in unwrapping his gifts this year than last. Here he is with some of his favorites.

Getting the Christmas Tree

We went the Friday after Thanksgiving to chop down a Christmas tree. Aidan had a good time running through all the trees. He was not too sure though what to think after we cut it down. He looked a little sad.
He is happy to have the tree put up at home now. A couple of times everyday he will walk around naming all the ornaments that he can reach. He is learning all kinds of new words like nutcracker and snowman. My favorites are Christmas tree which sounds like 'kisskiss tee' and 'mittmitts' for mittens.

Thanksgiving

Grandma & Grandpa Minnesota came in from Minneapolis and Aunt Karen came from Denver to spend Thanksgiving weekend with us. Here we are Thursday at dinner.

Aidan dug right in with fork & spoon.

Darren's Birthday

On the 21st, we celebrated Darren's 31st birthday! He got a little help with candles.

The End of Summer

Since it is November, we decided to finally let the air out of Aidan's swimming pool. It still feels like summer but Thanksgiving seems too late to swim outside. Aidan took the news a little hard. When he saw his pool hanging up deflated, he ran inside and got his bucket of pool toys. Then he laid down on the deck and pretended to be swimming.

After being asked at least 100 times every day this week to build Aidan a tunnel, I went and bought him one.
Yes, those are pumpkins in the tunnel. Why? I have no idea but he seems to be enjoying them.

At Play

Aidan with his friends, Ella & Jake, over for a fall BBQ

Aidan has discovered a love for coloring. He takes it very seriously.

Aidan's latest thing is tunnels. He likes it when you build a tunnel between the couch and coffee table with a blanket. He constantly wants you to bend your knees up so he can crawl underneath. He builds them out of blocks for his cars to drive through. Even the dark hallway at church is a tunnel.

A few more inches...

I was in the kitchen making supper when I heard what sounded like a ball rolling around in the foosball table. I thought it was strange because Aidan is not tall enough to reach it yet. When I looked in, I saw that, all by himself, he had pushed a box under table to stand on and was playing foosball.
Pretty smart!

Daddy's Office

We went downtown to have lunch with Darren this week and Aidan was very impressed with his office. His favorite part was the three elevators we had to take to get to the 44th floor.

Fall Festival

The weather here could not have been more perfect for the Fall Festival. Except maybe for those kids who costumes looked more like snowsuits. It was a beautiful evening. Aidan had tons of fun playing games, petting animals and just running around. He even kept his costume on all night without any complaints.Feeding the cow right before it gave Aidan a big lick, which he did not think was as funny as we didThe goats were a little crazy.
This guy grabbed the entire paper cup of animal feed out of Aidan's hand then ate it cup and all.Playing the bean bag tossAnd the ball toss

Practicing for Halloween

Aidan's record for wearing his costume was only about 15 minutes so we decided to practice the night before Halloween.
At first he was all smiles...
Then he started to get a little upset...And then "Get this thing off of me"...

Very Manly

Can you get any more stylish than camo pants and fuzzy puppy slippers?

Pumpkin Carving

Darren helped Aidan carve his pumpkin over the weekend. It even has a star shaped nose which Aidan requested. Aidan kept trying to eat everything we pulled out of the pumpkin.
