Back to School

Aidan started his year of PreK-5 at PCA. He is going all day, 5 days a week so it has been an adjustment for all of us. I think Kiersten was the most sad to see him leave that first day. She has gotten into a routine now where she doesn't miss him as much but is always excited to go pick him up.

Outside his classroom.

Next to his cubby, his art is on the top.

At the green table.

Kiersten is going to preschool two days a week at church.

Trying out her bin for size. It is really for her backpack.

Bye-Bye Ba-Ba

We made Kiersten give up her pacifier this summer. She affectionately referred to it as her ba-ba. Our friends, the Amersons, were moving to China with their new baby so we told Kiersten that baby Piper needed her pacifiers before they left. It worked and Kiersten handed them over without complaint.

One last suck in the car on the way.

Putting them in the gift bag to share with Piper.

Circus

One of Aidan's birthday gifts was tickets to the circus. It was the first time we have gone as a family.

They were both glued to the action.

Kiersten loved the elephants. She spent most of the night watching the entrance and waiting for the elephants to come in.

Aidan like the daredevil motorcycle riders.

Abrams Family Reunion

In July, we traveled north to Minnesota & Iowa for the Abrams Family Reunion.

We started in Minnesota with a day at the lake. The kids enjoyed boating & tubing.

Even Kiersten got in the tube.

We also made a stop at the Mall of America.

In Iowa, the kids got the chance to ride a pony.

Look at the little farm girl looking right at home.

Sorry, Aidan but the only helmet was pink. You wear it well.

Playing on the hay.

All the cousins (except the little ones) in the wagon.

Fishing at the pond.

Digging for dinosaur (cow) bones.

Ride 'Em Cowboy & Cowgirl

We got a bunch of free tickets the Rodeo this summer so we went a couple of times. Aidan & Kiersten loved going and cheering for the cowboys and animals.

The first night we went was free hat night.

Kiersten's favorite part was the roping. I was afraid she would be upset by the baby cows being chased but instead she kept cheering "Tie 'em up!"

Aidan's favorite part was the calf-scramble. He is out there somewhere trying to pull the ribbon off the calf's tail.

We found some boots in Kiersten's closet that a friend have given us. Despite barely being able to walk in them, she wore them all night.

Cow Appreciation Day

Chick-Fil-A offers a free meal to anyone dressed as a cow on Cow Appreciation Day. Here are my cute cows in 2011!

Loving her brocolli, but only the tops. She spits out the bottoms :)
