State Fair

We went to the State Fair on Monday. Aidan enjoyed it much more this year now that he could get more involved. His favorite part was seeing Big Tex or 'Big Tech' as Aidan calls him. He was scared almost to tears the first time he heard him talk but that was all he could talk about on the way home.Aidan won a backpack for throwing the football through the hole in the sign. Random Happenings

I am way behind on posting photos so here are some highlights from our fall so far...

The City Parks Dept hosted a family camp-out. We went on a night hike, made smores and slept in out tent all about two miles from our house. Aidan was quite a good camper.

More Funny Comments

Aidan has been set on being a hockey player for Halloween since September. I can't believe a 2-year old can be so unwavering in his decision. Darren & I keep making all kinds of other suggestions to see if he will change his mind. At preschool today they talked about Moses and the burning bush. At dinner, I suggested that he could be Moses for Halloween. Aidan said no. I suggested he could be a burning bush. Aidan thought about it a second and said "No, too hot".

Aidan's Funny Comments

Aidan is at a funny stage where he can pretty much say whatever he wants and can carry along a decent conversation but sometimes he just hears things wrong. For example, yesterday he was singing Zacchaeus (which he pronounces as Zacchaedus) and apparently he climbed up a "thank you for tree". For those of you who forget the song it was actually a sycamore tree.

Here is the conversation we had Wednesday:
Julie: There are a lot of mosquitoes out here today
Aidan: Matthew had 'squitos' for lunch yesterday at school
Julie: Squitos?
Aidan: Yes, little orange thingies
Julie: You mean Cheetos?
Aidan: Yes, he gave me a squito to eat too.

Vacation - Part 2

Maine & Acadia National ParkWe stopped at a sweet shop along the way that had a life size moose made of solid chocolate. Yum!

We took a ride on Lulu the Lobsterboat where we learned all about lobster fishing. Aidan got to pet one of our catches.Aidan sharing some ice cream with a giant lobster.All of us hiked up to Bubble Rock. It was very foggy that morning.

Vacation

We are now home after our family vacation to the Northeastern part of the US. I will share just some of the 600 pictures we took. We had a wonderful trip.

Playing games at the Eastham Windmill Festival

The whole family ran in the road race at the Windmill Festival. Darren ran the 5-mile while Aidan and I 'ran' the 2-mile. We came in 42 and 43rd (otherwise known as second to last and last place) but we took our time strolling around the course. Aidan was so excited when everyone was cheering as he ran across the finish line.

Aidan's favorite part about Boston was the Make Way for Ducklings statue. We read the book many times before we left so he knew exactly what he was looking for. It is a popular spot in the park for all the kids.

We took a Duck boat tour around the city. It goes both on land and in the water.Our tour guide, SuperSize, even let Aidan drive the boat in the water. A treat from out favorite bakery Mike's Pastry Shop. We stopped there three times in four days to be sure we sampled all the yummy baked goods.More time with the ducks.Aidan got to star as the first pig in the play at the Children's Museum.
