Happy Birthday Darren!!

Darren celebrated his 32nd birthday on Friday. We went out to dinner then came home for some suction cup (otherwise known as peanut butter cup to everyone except Aidan) cake from Coldstone.
By the way, you might not want to share any secret surprises with Aidan from now on. He handed Darren a gift to open and said "Open this one first Daddy. It is a wallet."

Mavs Game & Backyardigans

Last weekend was another busy one at the Abrams'. Friday night, we went to the Mavericks game. After a pre-game meal at Pei-Wei, Aidan was ready to go. He was yelling "Lets Go Mavs" and "De-fense" right along with the crowd.
And this is what he learned from Mavs Man's slam dunk show. He is using his mattress (I was changing his sheets at the time) as his trampoline.
The over the shoulder dunk
The somersault dunk
Saturday, Darren took him to see the Backyardigans Live. Here is the brave knight with his shield ready for the show.

Free Family Fun Day

On Saturday we took advantage of all the free activities around town and had a wonderful day. We started at a community parade. Aidan loved it because they were tossing out candy, soccer balls & basketballs.

Then we went to the library that was sponsoring an 'instrument petting zoo' and demonstrations by the symphony members. Aidan especially liked to pound on the drums (big surprise).

After a nap and dinner, we caught some Veteran's Day fireworks.
Its beginning to look like Christmas. This Santa arriving at the mall nearby on Friday.

Aidan's "Happy Visit" to the Dentist

Our family dentist likes to see kids for a "happy visit" before they come in for their first actual cleaning. Aidan went along when Darren went for his cleaning this week. He had a good time. He got to brush the teeth on the dinosaur and let the dentist check his teeth with the cavity detector. His favorite part though was getting his astronaut toothbrush which he used to brush his teeth about six times yesterday. This is Aidan's latest game. He calls it pillow pile. It is pretty self-explanatory but involves running at full speed down the hall and diving headfirst into the pillows.

More Funny Comments

Here are a few funny comments that Aidan made lately:

Today while shopping at Walmart, Aidan told me "Jesus has to keep his hands closed". Slightly confused, I asked him why. He answered, "Because he is holding the whole world in there."

After Aidan's nap on Monday all of his books were dumped off the bookshelf in his bedroom. I asked him what happened. He said "I was looking for my bible, it is God's Holy Word in case you don't know."

Happy Halloween

We started our trick or treating at the mall with Aidan's friend, Ashley. This hockey player was ready to go.
We then headed home to trick or treat in our neighborhood.

Later, we went over to the Fall Festival at church to play some games.

Fall Fun

Our neighborhood had a Fall Festival on Sunday. There was a fire truck, bounce houses and a petting zoo. Aidan really enjoyed getting up close with the animals.
Later we carved our pumpkins.

On Saturday, we went to the Stars game. Aidan is still a huge fan and was yelling "Lets Go Stars" so loud people in front of us were turning around to look at him.
