First Day of School

It is that time of year again. Aidan had his first full day of school today. He is attending preschool at the church again this year so he knows the routine. He had a great time and has been singing 'Do you know the muffin man?' over and over again. He was also very excited that he got to ride a bike on the playground.
I think his expression says 'you guys are embarassing me taking all these pictures on the front porch'.I get my picture taken too because it is my first day as a teacherHere is Aidan on his very first day of school last year. He has 'grown into' his lunch box.

Story Time

After story time at the library yesterday Aidan came home and hosted his gathering for his bears. Notice how they are all lined up facing him. He is reading them a 'story'. This means he opens his hands like a book and 'reads' from it. The story usually goes something like this...There was a boy named Aidan. He wanted to play on his swingset but it was too hot. He likes the slide. The End.

Children's Museum

On Wednesday, we went to the Children's Museum in Dallas with Aidan's friend Ashley and her mom. It was no where near as extensive as the Children's Museums in other cities we have visited but it was a nice diversion for a rainy day. Aidan was excited to the see the dinosaurs. He kept reminding himself that 'dinosaurs not scary'.

Water Park

Today was the coolest day of the Dallas summer so far (about 75 degrees in the morning) so what did we do? We went to the water park. We had some passes to use before the end of the season so today was our last chance to go as a family. It was a little chilly at first but the sun came out in the afternoon. Aidan was so brave and tried out all the water slides in the kids area. As soon as he got to the bottom of a slide he was ready to go back up.
Aidan shiveringFirst time down the slide, Aidan ended up head first on his back. All I saw were arms and legs coming down. The next time he was feet first but on his stomach. Then he got the hang of it.

Muffin Man

This morning Aidan made us blueberry muffins for breakfast. He enjoyed putting the muffin papers into the 'muffin holes' as he called them. He even broke the eggs himself. Darren had to pick some shell out of the bowl but he did pretty well.

Thud

Darren & I were just getting into bed Thursday night, when we heard a crash from upstairs. This is where we found Aidan and he was still fast asleep.

Aidan's funny comments of the day II

Aidan and I were playing in a pile of pillows and talking about how some were filled with feathers and some with cotton. Later, when Aidan went to take a nap he informed that his pillow 'is full of manicotti'.

Also, I am not sure where he picked it up but he is constantly saying 'do you want to join us'. For example, if he and Darren are playing a game and I walk in the room he will say 'do you want to join us'.
