Better late than never...

I found an 80% off Gingerbread House kit at the grocery store this week. Aidan had a ball decorating/eating all the candy trimmings. He never asked why we were making it after Christmas.

Aidan's Funny Comments

These are a bunch of random comments that Aidan has made over the past week or so. They may be "had-to-be-there" kind of moments but we found them really funny.
  • The church service on Christmas Eve was the first time Aidan had ever been in the sanctuary. As we took our seats he asked "So where does God sit?"
  • For Christmas, Aidan got a Thomas the Train bath set. Everything in it is "Whistlin' Berry" scent which Aidan needs to ask about every time he takes a bath. The other day he asked for a snack and I told him he could only have fruit. He looked in the refrigerator and asked where we keep the whistlin' berries.
  • While we were playing with his hockey guys the other night and to me Aidan said "Give me that guy, lady" I said "Excuse me?" which is code for please ask again with better manners. Aidan said "Sorry, give me that guy, girl." Not quite what I was looking for.
  • Before going to sleep, Aidan is a sucker for a song and a back rub. As I put him down for a nap, he asked for just one more song. I agreed and then he said "I better feel both hands rubbing this time".
  • Aidan loves his Stars calendar that he got for free at a game. I asked him what month it was and he looked stumped. I started to give him a clue by saying "Jan..." and he yelled out "-tastic". Happy Jantastic everyone.

Other Holiday Happenings

The Nativity set provided a lot on entertainment for Aidan this season. I found everything from zambonis to juice boxes as part of his creations. In this picture they were lining up to sing the National Anthem. What else would you do before the birth of our Savior? Christmas Eve - As part of the Christmas Eve service at church all the kids go down front for a special message. Aidan showed no hesitation in walking down and finding a seat all by himself. There were a ton of kids but he was very well-behaved and found us after it was over. You can barely see his head in the picture (under the white arrow). Christmas Morning - This was the first year that Aidan really understood about presents. He was so sweet and commented "This is exactly what I wanted for Christmas" after opening each one.

The Monday after Christmas, Aidan & Darren went to check out the trains at the mall. I love that Aidan will wear a hat no matter how goofy it makes him look.
New Years Eve - Stars Game - Aidan made a sign to hold up for the Stars during warm ups. They must have liked it because they flipped him a puck over the glass. He really does love hockey and gets into cheering for the Stars.

Colorado Chistmas

Here are some pictures of our trip to Colorado the week before Christmas. We visited with Darren's family and Julie's brother and sister-in-law. We had a great time enjoying the snow in the mountains and the family time back in Denver.

Bundled up, ready to play in the snow as soon as we got up into the mountains.

Sweet Treats

Aidan decorated all our Christmas cookies for me this year. Here are the snowmen he made for Darren's office. He really got into and took special care to make all the snowmen different.

Aidan's newest chore is setting the table for dinner. I am not sure how many people he thought were joining us at the table.
Aidan's school class celebrated Christmas with a Happy Birthday Jesus party today. Darren took time off work to come for the fun. Aidan kept asking if Jesus was coming to the party.

It is hard to believe this is already Aidan's third Christmas. Here are some pictures from the over the years...
